Motivation, Or Lack Thereof…
What do you do when you just simply don’t have any motivation? Do you just give in and roll over in your bed, pull the covers up over your head, and say good night? No way! I don’t know of anybody at this point in time in their life, with the way this year is going, they can do that and still survive. It seems like all of our households are in survival mode as it is. Then to throw in the lack of self-motivation. That is a double whammy!

When you are considering something, something as simple as taking a walk outside. You will think of 10,000 excuses as to why you cannot do that. The weather is not ideal. Your phone is not charged up enough to play music for you. Your feet hurt from walking so much yesterday. When you throw away the excuses and pull the strength out of your butt to make yourself, you will do it! You have to prove to no one in this world, but yourself. And believe me, you are worth proving yourself to!
That is why the 10-minute rule is something to live by. Not only in your home life, but in your work life and your social life as well. If there is something that needs to be done and you just lack the motivation to do it; give yourself a 10-minute time limit. Whatever you are able to do in that 10-minute timeslot, that is all that gets done. One thing is certainly going to happen; you are going to impress yourself with what you can accomplish within 10 minutes.

This is a good trick to implement whether you lack motivation, you are just tired, you are scattered from a busy day, or even anxious. It is hard to take control of your own actions and motivate yourself when all you do all day is work to motivate other people. Remember this; you are worth it! Getting your mind and your body back on track, are worth it! And don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise!
Until next time,
