Mesquite Diner 7/9/2022 - Breakfast
Breakfast is literally the best…especially when I do not have to cook it! The husband, Luis, took me to breakfast this morning to ease the stress on me. I despise choosing where to eat…so, as the norm, he picked the place; Mesquite Diner for the win!
We tried to go here a while back and they were way too packed, there was no getting a table. This time I was shocked at how easy it was to get a table. Maybe it was just the time of day, who knows. Kathy, the manager, helped us find out way through the extensive menu and this was our order.

Me: Mesquite scramble with coffee
Luis: Chicken Fried Steak
Shared: Banana Hot Cakes
All-in-all, the food was great. You could tell it was all fresh and not frozen. The Mesquite scramble had veggies sauteed right into it, along with cubed red potatoes, and toast. Luis’ chicken fried steak came with hashbrowns, a biscuit and gravy. The gravy was phenomenal! The banana hot cakes had cut bananas on top along with whipped cream, no reason for syrup, but we added it anyway.

The portion sizes were perfect and there were very few leftovers. That is something I watch for in restaurants, I do not want to waste food. The waitresses offered to fill my coffee and Luis’ water several times, which was refreshing because some places do not.
One thing I loved was the fact that there were two possibly pre-teens there clearing tables and wiping them down. I loved that because it is never too early to teach responsibility and good cleaning habits. This will also teach business ethics. So win-win situation.

I do not like to rate restaurants because they all have positives and negatives. What I will say is this; I would go back and I suggest you go try them out too.
Until Next Time!
