Covid Vaccine…Done!
I finally took time for myself and got my Covid-19 vaccine. I was not sure what to expect; however, the nurse explained everything very well. Let me tell you about it.
First, I could not go to my family physician’s office or to the pharmacy because neither location had any of the vaccine available. So, I went to Plan B and went online. I quickly found out that the only place that had vaccines available was the local health department. So, I swallowed deep and went to the health department. Which for those of you who do not know me personally; I hate public sick spaces; which would include the health department.

When I walked in, I met the receptionist and she explained that I had 3 papers to fill out and there would be a wait because they are a walk-in clinic, so it is first come first serve basically. Realizing I needed the vaccine, I agreed to wait. After about an hour I was called back and met the nurse. She sensed I was nervous I am sure because she slowed down and softened her approach.
She explained to me that she was going to administer the vaccine and I may experience pain, redness, and even swelling in the arm she administers it to. But wait; there’s more! She went on to say that after getting the vaccine I may feel tired, sleepy, have headaches, and muscle pains. Not to mention I may also experience chills, fever, and even nausea. The symptoms alone made me rethink this whole vaccine. Tylenol was going to be my best friend for the next few days, she encouraged it.
I took a deep breath and she jabbed me with the needle. Before I knew it, she was done. That was when she told me to go back to the waiting room and sit for about 30 minutes to make sure I did not have any issues. When I asked her what kind of issues to expect, she smiled. Then went into a dissertation of shortness of breath, sweating, light headedness, and even passing out! What the…she did not mention this in her original introduction.
However, I went out to the waiting area and…well, waited. Nothing happened. I felt fine, so I asked the receptionist if I could go and she approved, so out the door I fled. I immediately drove home, walked my dog, and laid down.
Now to today…I FEEL LIKE GARBAGE! My arm is so sore, it hurts to move it up and down. My mouth tastes terrible and I feel like I want to vomit when there is nothing on my belly. I am hot, but no fever, so I have my desk fan on. And my stupid self…still came to work. I mean, no reason I cannot work, right?
Nowhere to go but UP from Here;
